The desk
Reader feedback
Corrections first: tell us the article, the sentence and what is wrong with it. Questions, suggestions for guides and placement enquiries all arrive in the same place.
What to put in the message
Most disagreements about a guide turn out to be two different setups rather than an error, so the details save a round trip: the address of the page, the sentence you are querying, and the version you are on — distribution and release, desktop environment and session type, phone model and patch level, whichever applies. If a command behaved differently for you, paste what it printed.
If you are proposing a guide, say which question a reader would type into a search box to find it. That is the test we apply to our own list, and it is the reason some obvious-looking topics never get written.
Placement enquiries: name which of the three options on the placement page you want and the address you want linked. We answer those in the order they arrive and we do not publish anything that is not labelled.
